The below information details how your data will be used in relation to the London International Bariatric Surgery Symposium.

When you register for our symposium or submit an abstract, we collect personal information about you such as name, address, email, phone, employment details. When you make a payment the gateway records details of your financial instrument.

Delegates 

We may share information with third parties such as the venue for dietary or special access requirements, a limited delegate list with exhibitors or your finance department for invoicing.  If required, we will also share your attendance signature with the relevant CPD authority.

Speakers
Information such as your name, job title, organisation, photo and biography may be shared publicly on the website and social media, and, to delegates within the programme. Personal information as well as your presentation may also be shared with our AV partner.

Where you provide us with personal information about someone else
If you provide us with someone else’s personal information by registering them as a delegate or include co-authors in your abstract, you should only do so if you have their authority or consent to do so. You should also take reasonable steps to inform them of the information set out in the Privacy Policies.

Conference Programme
A list of all registered attendees may be added to the conference programme which is available only to registered attendees and exhibitors. This includes your name and organisation and does not include contact information. Your name and country will also appear on your name badge.

Photographs & Videos
Photographs/videos may be taken during sessions, break times, exhibition and social events which may be shared on our website and social media.  If you wish to be excluded from photographs/videos please contact us prior to the event start date.

Communication
We will communicate with you via email, phone or post which may include event and booking details.

Future Marketing and information from sponsors
We would like to contact you with information from our sponsors and in the future with information about similar LIBSS events and activities. You can unsubscribe from these at any time.

Bariatric Cadaveric Course – Privacy Policy

Covidien AG, having its registered address at Victor Von Bruns-Str. 19, 8212 Neuhausen am Rheinfall, Switzerland (individually, “Medtronic”) and Bariatric & Metabolic Surgery UK (London International Bariatric Surgery Symposium) having its registered address at 9 Stonehall Avenue, Ilford, Essex, IG1 3SH (individually, “Institution”), collectively referred to as “we”, “us” or “our”, will be jointly processing the personal data that you provide to us (either on a voluntary basis or through automated means), in order to organize and manage the Bariatric & Metabolic Surgery UK (London International Bariatric Surgery Symposium) (the “Joint Event”). Both Medtronic and Institution will process your personal data, including by making all or part of it available to the other, for the purposes described above.

The types of personal data we process about you for such purposes include:

  • identification data, such as name, contact details;
  • professional details, such as employer’s details, specialty, professional experience, professional qualifications, professional activities and affiliations, professional number where required under national law;
  • travel information, such as national ID/passport number, dietary and travel preferences, logistics and travel details, expenses;
  • images, video and/or image;
  • financial information, such as honoraria paid in connection with the Joint Event;
  • any additional information you provide to us, such as personal preferences. We will process such data in accordance with this Joint Privacy Notice.

For that specific processing, Medtronic and Institution are jointly responsible and will process your personal data based on their legitimate interests. This means that Medtronic and Institution work together to decide why and how your personal data is processed.

We may use third-party service providers in order to achieve the purpose set out in this Joint Privacy Notice, including to manage your registration and travel arrangements through Event Management Tools which are managed independently by Medtronic and Institution, and to manage our relationship and communications with you through Communications Tools and Customer Relationship Management Systems.

To the extent provided by applicable law, you may exercise your rights as individuals with regards to the personal data jointly processed by us for the Joint Event, by contacting Medtronic. You may object to us using your personal data for the purpose described above. Note however that by doing so, you will not be able to register to nor attend the Joint Event. Requests or claims may be addressed via email to Institution at [email protected] and/or to Medtronic at [email protected].

We do not perform all processing of your personal data jointly in context of the Joint Event.
Institution processes certain of your personal data independently of Medtronic, for which Institution is solely responsible. Similarly, Medtronic processes certain of your personal data independently of Institution, for which Medtronic is solely responsible.
